First Wilko shop closures begin after rescue fails Tuesday will see the first Wilko shop closures after the collapsed retail chain failed to find a buyer. The first 24 shops – including ones in Liverpool, Cardiff, Acton and Falmouth will close on Tuesday, and a further 28 will close on Thursday. All of Wilko’s 400 shops will close by October. Government may have broken law over sewage releases – watchdog The UK government and regulators may have broken the law over how they regulate sewage releases, the UK’s environment watchdog has said. The Office for Environmental Protection announced its preliminary findings into an investigation on Tuesday. Venice to back €5 fee for day-trip tourists Venice is expected to approve the trial of a €5 (£4.30) fee for daily visitors, in the hope that the city can control tourism.  All visitors over the age of 14 will have to pay the charge and book their entry to the city in advance. Thousands feared dead as flooding sweeps Libya Widespread flooding in Libya, following a powerful storm, has killed more than 2,000 people and left thousands missing, according to the leader of the east Libyan government – which is not recognised internationally.
