Much of Sunday’s front page coverage is dedicated to the Princess of Wales, who made a public appearance yesterday, following her cancer battle this year.
The tabloids lead with the story, whilst the broadsheets feature images of the princess on their front splashes.
After days of heavy US political coverage, domestic politics finds itself back on the front pages.
President-elect Donald Trump is projected to have won Arizona – meaning he has taken all seven swing states in the 2024 presidential election. Four days after the election, Arizona was the final US state to declare its result, giving Trump 312 electoral college voters at the end of the election, whilst Democrat Kamala Harrs got 226. Trump is currently appointing his cabinet and preparing to take office in January. He will meet with outgoing President Joe Biden on Wednesday.
Footballing legend Paul Gascoigne has revealed he failed the I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! psychiatrist test not once or twice, but five times. Later this month, the likes of Danny Jones, Maura Higgins, Coleen Rooney, Tulisa, and Oti Mabuse are rumoured to be heading into camp for the hotly anticipated new series. Gazza, 57, has been due to head Down Under with Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly on several occasions; however, the medical assessments ahead of the series placed obstacles in his path. He has been open about his addiction battles since retiring in 2004, having struggled…
Jamie Oliver has apologised and withdrawn a children’s book he wrote after it was criticised for causing offence to First Nation Australians. The TV chef and father-of-five is among a long list of celebrities to have produced their own book for youngsters. It comes after the Australian subplot in Jamie’s 400-page fantasy novel, Billy and the Epic Escape, was criticised for being damaging and disrespectful. As reported by The Guardian, National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Education Corporation (Natsiec) blasted the book, which tells the story of a First Nations girl living in foster care, for contributing to the ‘erasure,…
GTA 5 – not for kids (Rockstar Games) After Grand Theft Auto is banned in one country a reader admits that he wouldn’t be upset if the same happened here, in order to protect his son. Earlier this week there was a news story about the country of Tajikistan banning Grand Theft Auto, as well as Counter-Strike. This was met with much patronising comment by a lot of gamers, but I have to say it doesn’t sound that incomprehensible to me. I don’t know why they banned it, maybe their reasons weren’t good, but as a father of a seven-year-old…
There’s nothing like a good debate about your favourite TV shows to spark up a fiery discussion that could go on for days on end. People will always disagree about which series they love and hate – but, in some cases, critical acclaim can end up being pretty much universal. In a recent Reddit post, a user called phildunpheee – aptly named (we’re assuming) after Ty Burrell’s character Phil Dunphy from Modern Family – they asked others what sitcom they would deem perfect in every way. ‘What’s a sitcom that started as a 10, stayed a 10, and ended as…
Phillip Schofield said his final goodbyes to his beloved mother this weekend as Pat’s funeral took place at St. Michael’s Church in Newquay, Cornwall. The former This Morning presenter announced his mother’s death at the age of 88 on October 14, writing in a statement at the time that her final moments were ‘calm peaceful, beautiful and dignified.’ On Friday, Schofield was joined by close friends and family for the funeral and had the full support of his wife, Stephanie Lowe, and their two daughters, Ruby and Molly. The 62-year-old looked devastated as he carried his mother’s casket, which was carefully…
