Arne Slot responds to Liverpool transfer link with Milos Kerkez

Arne Slot has played down Liverpool’s transfer link with Milos Kerkez after his side’s 2-0 win over Bournemouth on Saturday.

Kerkez has been one of Bournemouth’s standout performers this season and has been linked with a move to Liverpool in the summer transfer window.

Earlier this month, Kerkez insisted that he would not be moving to Liverpool as he said during a YouTube live stream: ‘I will not go to Liverpool. For everybody listening, I will not go to Liverpool.’

And speaking after Liverpool’s victory away to Bournemouth, Slot refused to entertain the prospect of signing the 21-year-old this summer.

When asked directly if Liverpool are considering a move for Kerkez at the end of the season, Slot replied: ‘I don’t think I have to talk about players that we are interested in, let alone a player from Bournemouth.

‘He’s playing over here, he’s having a great season, as many, many other players are here as well.

‘It shows you probably how good of a manager you have, and what a great sports director you had, or still have, I don’t know how the one is doing now, he brought in very good players and this manager works with them in an incredible way because he brings the best out of every single player, including the one you just mentioned.

‘But I’m not talking about an individual, they are all bringing the best out of their game at the moment.’

Two goals from Mohamed Salah sealed Liverpool’s win over Bournemouth which has extended their lead at the top of the Premier League to nine points.

Liverpool are next in action away to Everton on Wednesday evening.
