Armenia detains protesters demanding prime minister’s resignation

Armenia detains protesters after the government agreed to return long-held territory to Azerbaijan.

Despite Archbishop Bagrat Galstanyan’s attempts to initiate an impeachment process against him, Pashinyan, who rose to power in 2018 through a peaceful revolution, remains firm in his position.

On Monday, hundreds of protesters blocked roads across Armenia in what Galstanyan termed a “nationwide campaign of disobedience.”
