Armed robber who stole Pokémon cards caught on camera by Twitch streamer

While working at his gaming store, Twitch streamer DSKoopa claims he came face to face with an ‘armed robber’ who ended up stealing some rare items.

DSKoopa, or simply Cody, often streams from his gaming store Pink Gorilla in Seattle, sharing his day-to-day escapades with his viewers. Since he started his channel he’s managed to get almost 80,000 followers, who tune in either to keep him company or watch him fix video games to resell.

The streamer has certainly had his fair share of awkward moments, as happens when broadcasting live, as he once even filmed a customer seemingly trying to swipe a game.

However, this time one of his employees had a much scarier interaction with a man that was an ‘armed robber,’ whom DSKoopa had also met earlier while streaming live.

The employee, Jordan Carson, said that a man dressed in black and wearing a mask came into the store, walked around a bit and asked him to take a PlayStation 3 out of its display.

When the man came up to the till Carson told him how much it would be multiple times, but he refused to pay and just kept asking for a bag.

The thief then took off with the console, some Pokémon and Yu-Gi-Oh! cards, and some cash. Before storming off, he also tried to justify his actions to Carson, claiming his brother was in the hospital.

‘It was very casual, he had his hands in his pocket the whole time, it was a subtle motion, but it got the job done. I knew he had a gun,’ Carson told the local Fox News branch.

When hearing about the situation, DSKoopa realised that he had seen the man earlier while he was also live-streaming on Twitch.

The man appears to wear the exact same outfit and is seen standing outside the gaming store’s locked entrance. DSKoopa tried to explain that the store is closed, but the man just keeps standing there.

The streamer then approaches the man to see what he wanted and allows him to go into the store. The clip cuts off when the man is at the till, seemingly paying for some items.

Some of the viewers instantly noted that the man was ‘suspicious’ and that DSKoopa should ‘call the cops,’ but as nothing bad happened, the streamer just went on with his day.

Last year, the store was broken into twice, totalling about $14,000 (⁓£12,000) in theft and damages.

Since then, the store has been fitted with surveillance cameras and its main entrance was reinforced, but this didn’t seem to bother the robber this time.

This is not the first time Twitch has immortalised awkward or even scary situations, as not long ago, another streamer got evicted while playing Dreamlight Valley.

A group of friends in Italy also found themselves in the midst of a gun going off, although luckily they came out unharmed. So, you never really know what to expect, whichever end of the screen you’re sitting at.

This is our original location. We’ve been there 17 years. It’s a major Seattle tourist attraction. Relocating would be heartbreaking and financially devastating.
