The former governor was formally charged on Thursday night with a sex crime after a 5-month investigation.

He was accused of committing a crime of “forcible touching” by putting his hand under a woman’s shirt on Dec 7, 2020.
A misdemeanour complaint was filed by police in a court in Albany, New York, a spokesman for the state courts said.

There was no immediate comment from representatives for Mr Cuomo.

The Democrat governor resigned in August after over a decade in office.
He was once touted as a potential Democrat presidential contender.
His resignation followed a five-month investigation by New York Attorney General Letitia James that concluded he had sexually harassed 11 women.
Those women included the alleged victim in the new criminal complaint, whose name was redacted.
