Aaron Carter’s son is suing his doctors and the pharmacy which prescribed him medication.
The I Want Candy star died in November last year aged 34, leaving behind ex-fiancee Melanie Martin and his son Princeton, who was 11 months old at the time of his death.
Carter died from drowning in the bathtub of his home after taking prescription generic Xanax and inhaling compressed difluoroethane, which is the propellant used in cans of compressed air.
Now his son, who will turn two in November, is suing Carter’s doctors and pharmacies through his mother, Martin.
According to TMZ, the lawsuit names his doctors as well as Walgreens pharmacy, claiming the quantities and type of drugs along with Carter’s known psychiatric issues should been cause for concern for the pharmacy.
Documents seen by the lawsuit claim doctors prescribed Carter Hydrocodone, Oxycodone and Alprazolam with no medical justification and being aware of Carter’s ‘mental health and psychiatric condition.’

It claims the drug use would have clouded Carter’s judgement.
The suit, filed on Princeton’s behalf by his mother Martin, seeks unspecified damages for wrongful death.
His death was confirmed to Metro.co.uk last year with a representative of Carter’s saying they were ‘extremely saddened and shocked to confirm the passing of Aaron Carter today.’
Following his cause of death being revealed, his on-off partner Martin told TMZ the report hasn’t given her closure and that it ‘doesn’t make sense’.
‘The results of the autopsy are not closure for me,’ she shared.

‘It claims death is by drowning but also adds he was wearing a t-shirt and necklace in the bathtub which doesn’t make sense, why would he be in a bathtub with clothes on?’
Martin added: ‘I am still in shock and still miss Aaron every day. I don’t understand the chain of events and this report only has us asking more questions.’
The report states that the US star became ‘incapacitated while in the bathtub due to the effects’ of the drugs.

He ultimately slipped under the water and drowned; his death was officially ruled accidental.
The popstar’s struggles with mental illness were well documented throughout his life, as he lived with schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and manic depression.
Carter, who found fame as a child star and is the brother of Backstreet Boys star Nick Carter, did not leave a will, initially causing concern over who his estate would go to.
However his family later said that they wanted him to be the beneficiary of his dad’s assets, as the relatives ‘don’t need the money,’ and his estate went to his young son.
Since Carter’s death, his family has launched a fundraiser for mental health charities in his memory.
