Europe and the United States are not aligned as before, this comes on the same days and the Netherlands moves 127 tonnes of Gold from the United States Federal reserve to London.
The end of American dominance in Europe
German Chancellor Merz said in a speech:
“The era of American dominance is largely over for us in Europe, and in Germany as well. It no longer exists as we knew it.
The Americans are now aggressively pursuing their own interests.”
He also went on to say “We are facing a trade dispute with the Americans and significant imbalances with the People’s Republic of China.
If we want to stand our ground, including technologically, there is only one way: together in Europe and with the most modern technologies.”
He also went on to criticise US policy on Iran
“This whole issue is, at the very least, poorly thought out. Right now, I can’t see what strategic way out the Americans are choosing. The Iranians are negotiating extremely skilfully.
An entire nation, the U.S., is being humiliated. The Iranians are much stronger than expected.”
Trump’s sanctions
This is the consequence of Trump’s sanctions one Europe and the diverging policies on Ukraine, that have strained Europe and isolated Russian and European relationship, whilst bolstering the US and Russian understanding.
With Europe actively pursuing the an EU armed forces and the UK on the verge of joining the EU again, this could be the end of NATO.
