Rebecca Bullock, a 31-year-old pub manager from Whitchurch, was stabbed to death in an unprovoked attack at Rosenheim train station in Upper Bavaria, Germany, early on Sunday morning. A 27-year-old German man has been arrested in connection with the incident and is being held in a psychiatric hospital.

German police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the fatal stabbing of Rebecca Bullock at Rosenheim train station in Upper Bavaria and are seeking witnesses. The Foreign Office is providing support to Rebecca’s family and maintaining communication with local authorities as the investigation progresses.

The White Swan pub in Whitchurch announced it will remain closed following Rebecca Bullock’s death, with floral tributes left by locals. The Foreign Office confirmed it is “supporting the family of a British woman who died in Germany and are in touch with the local authorities.”

What remains unclear — German police have not disclosed the motive behind the attack that led to Rebecca Bullock’s death.

A ‘wonderful and caring’ village pub manager has been named as the Brit who was stabbed to death at a railway station in Germany.

Rebecca Bullock, known as Becca, suffered multiple stab wounds after a homeless man launched what is thought to be an unprovoked attack in the early hours of Sunday morning.

The 31-year-old had just arrived in the country and was thought to be on her way to Austria to support a friend at a funeral.

Officers were called to Rosenheim train station in Upper Bavaria at around 12.50am on Sunday, but Rebecca died in hospital as a result of her injuries.

A 27-year-old German man from the town of Fürstenfeldbruck, west of Munich, was arrested at the scene and is being held in a psychiatric hospital.

In a Facebook post on Monday, the White Swan pub in Whitchurch paid tribute to Rebbeca.

Rebecca was credited with bringing The White Swan back to life

Their statement read: ‘It is with the heaviest of hearts that we are having to write this.

‘We are so deeply sorry to say that our beloved Becca passed away over the weekend whilst away on holiday. All our thoughts and condolences are with her family at this time.

‘Becca was much loved by all of the team at the White Swan and our amazing locals.’

The White Swan has remained closed since news of her death and floral tributes have been left outside the venue, near Aylesbury in Buckinghamshire.

Locals have also paid tribute to Rebecca, who was credited with running charity events at the pub, including to help a seriously ill girl in the community.

One wrote: ‘I can’t believe Becca organised a fundraiser at the pub just over a week ago and raised £900 for her, and now she’s no longer here.’

Another said: ‘Rest in paradise our Becca, I’ll miss you so much! Thank you for everything you taught me through the years! Heaven has gained the most beautiful angel’.

A White Swan customer praised Rebecca for bringing ‘that pub back to life’, adding: ‘words can’t describe how much impact you had in the pub and the village.’

Richard Shuffill, 82, vice-chairman of the parish council in the village, said Ms Bullock had been ‘like a breath of fresh air’ at the local pub.

He told The Sun: ‘It was impossible not to like her. She was always pleasant and friendly. No one can believe what’s happened and she will be terribly missed.

‘Her death has come as a real shock and it’s a huge loss to our community. I only saw her Saturday lunchtime and then 12 hours later – bless her – she is no longer with us.’

Rebecca was a former pupil of Waddesdon Church of England School was also a member of the Thame Runners and had completed the 2022 London marathon in support of the Spinal Injuries Association.

German police have asked anyone with information or who saw ‘an argument or physical altercation’ at the station to contact the Rosenheim Criminal Police Inspectorate.

The Foreign Office said: ‘We are supporting the family of a British woman who died in Germany and are in touch with the local authorities.’
