    A 12-year-old boy has died after being hit by a car on Ashwells Road in Pilgrims Hatch, Brentwood. A 15-year-old boy and a 43-year-old man have been arrested on suspicion of murder and remain in custody.

    Ashwells Road remains closed as the investigation continues, with authorities urging motorists to seek alternative routes. Two individuals, a 15-year-old boy and a 43-year-old man, are currently in custody on suspicion of murder, while the investigation team is working to understand the incident’s full circumstances.

    Essex Police have arrested a 15-year-old boy and a 43-year-old man on suspicion of murder following the death of a 12-year-old boy who sustained serious injuries in a collision. Chief Inspector Terry Fisher stated, “I know the investigation team is doing everything possible to fully understand the circumstances and progress this appropriately,” while urging respect for the family’s privacy during this difficult time.

    What remains unclear — The exact circumstances surrounding the collision that led to the boy’s death are still under investigation.

    A 15-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a schoolboy was killed by a car.

    Police were scrambled to Ashwells Road in Pilgrims Hatch, Brentwood at 5.40pm after the collision on Sunday.

    The 12-year-old boy was taken to hospital with very serious injuries and has since died.

    His family is being supported, Essex Police said.

    A 15-year-old boy and a 43-year-old man, both from the Pilgrims Hatch area, have been arrested on suspicion of murder and remain in custody.

    An Essex Police spokesman said: ‘Our investigation is ongoing and Ashwells Road remains closed and we ask motorists to please find other routes.

    ‘Anyone with information can contact us through the public portal.

    ‘Out of respect for the victim and his family’s privacy, we have turned off comments. We hope the public understand and support us in this approach.’

    Chief Inspector Terry Fisher, Brentwood district commander, added: ‘I’m acutely aware that this incident is likely to have a significant impact in our community, and I know the investigation team is doing everything possible to fully understand the circumstances and progress this appropriately.

    ‘The loss of a child is every parent’s nightmare, and I would ask that this family’s privacy is fully respected at this time, both in person and online.

    ‘Our key local partners have also been updated on this incident.’
