VE Day 80: Never Forget

At last Europe’s long nightmare of war is ended. In the schoolhouse at Reims, where General Eisenhower has his headquarters, Germany yesterday surrendered unconditionally to all the Allies, and it is expected that the Prime Minister will make a formal announcement of the event this afternoon.

And so this will be VE Day.
