CBB star Chesney Hawkes breaks down in tears after ‘low blow’ from Ella Rae Wise
Celebrity Big Brother Ella Rae Wise has divided viewers with her actions after a brutal round of face-to-face nominations.
The 24-year-old Towie star did not hold back as she put Chris Hughes and Chesney Hawkes forward for the triple eviction tomorrow night.
However, many CBB fans have declared her comments towards pop star Chesney a ‘low blow,’ which led to him breaking down in tears.
Sharing her reasons for nominating the singer, Ella reflected on now-removed housemate Mickey Rourke’s sexually inappropriate remarks towards her before he was kicked out of the house.
Last week, the Hollywood star, 72, made Ella feel uneasy when she asked him to ‘come with [her]’, to which he replied: ‘Come in you?’ and was immediately chastised by other housemates.
Bringing the situation to the surface again during nominations, Ella criticised Chesney, 53, for not standing up and defending her against the former boxer’s sleazy quip.

‘My first nomination is Chesney, just because, when a certain someone was here and didn’t make me feel comfortable, I feel like, when certain jokes were made, you were in the same area and, as a man, you should’ve said, “That’s not OK.”
‘And then after, you’d say to me that you’re sorry, that you didn’t feel as if you stood up for me as you should, but then still continued to faff about with the skeleton and talk about Mickey every day.’
‘I’m sorry you feel that way, Ella,’ he told her. ‘I’m sorry I did that.’
The One and Only hitmaker was visibly stunned by her reasons, which later led to him crying in JoJo Siwa’s arms as he confided in her and Chris.
‘I get it. She was upset and she was angry, and she took it out on me, unfairly, I would say,’ he began.
Chesney continued: ‘The comment she made about me was the harshest one in that room, to be honest. Because she questioned me being a man and not standing up for her.’
Agreeing, Karma hitmaker JoJo nodded: ‘That’s not a little flick, that’s a low blow.’
‘You’re a good man, Chesney,’ she told him sweetly as they hugged. ‘I don’t like most straight men, so that’s how you know you’re a good one.’
Chesney began to cry as JoJo said he reminded her of her dad. ‘The last thing I want is anyone to think that I would let that happen willingly.
‘I’ve got a daughter her age!’
Fortunately, the pair were able to patch things up after an emotional Ella was made aware that she’d hurt Chesney’s feelings.
In a chat on the sofa that night, she apologised and he responded with: ‘I’m sorry that you’ve felt uncomfortable, ever in this house.’
‘I just felt that a little bit of protection would’ve been nice,’ said Ella.
‘I’m a protective father of three, they’re your age, my kids,’ Chesney assured her. ‘It absolutely would kill me to think that you thought I would not be a man and stand up to that, and I’m so sorry that you had to go through that with him.’
However, this didn’t stop viewers from slating her, as they took to X calling Ella ‘bitter’.
‘What Ella has just done to poor Chesney is a low blow to say the least’, tweeted @maxbiddle98.
‘Why didn’t Ella say this to chesney after it happened then? Why she only saying this now after he nominated her? Definitely a retaliation to the nomination. A low blow and very nasty’, raged @randbsoulheart.
‘Nah what Ella said to Chesney was unfair and could be so damaging and yet she’s the one crying??’, wrote @thatsmypeachx.
In contrast, many viewers did stick up for her, despite it not being ‘nice’ to see Chesney in tears.
@LikeSo_Spinelli penned: ‘not nice to see chesney cry but ella was kinda right on this one. chesney didn’t speak up when mickey said what he said, even with jojo, chesney didn’t speak up then either. only later in the diary room’.
‘I do really like chesney but ella was right, I didn’t see him call mickey out at all. It was chris who repeatedly spoke up. I think maybe he’s so upset abt it because he’s realised he did stand there quietly whilst it happened’, added @smolsunshinekjd.
Declaring Ella’s comments ‘100% right,’ @trashtv7 posted: ‘No one should try and negate what she said either, it literally happened. He did the same to JoJo’.
Who are you voting to save?
It’s fair to say Ella has been a divisive character in the CBB house over recent days, with many believing she is ‘jealous’ of JoJo and Chris’s close friendship, which has undoubtedly been one of this year’s main talking points.
Things came to a head during face-to-face noms, though, as she stormed out of the room in tears after receiving the most nominations from the other housemates.
She’ll go up against Angellica Bell, Patsy Palmer, and Chris in tomorrow night’s live eviction. Also facing the chop is Danny Beard, whose name was put forward after JoJo was granted the surprising treat of being able to replace herself with someone else.
Celebrity Big Brother continues tomorrow at 9pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
