Cliff Notes – Alison Hammond has been offered Big Brother return 23 years later

    • Alison Hammond, who gained fame on Big Brother in 2002, has declined an offer to return to the show, stating she prefers to focus on new projects.
    • Despite her refusal, Hammond expressed gratitude for her Big Brother experience, acknowledging its significant impact on her life and career.
    • While she won’t be involved in the upcoming Celebrity Big Brother, Hammond is reportedly preparing to host a reboot of the BBC game show Hole In The Wall.

Alison Hammond has revealed she has been asked to make a sensational Big Brother return.

The presenter, 47, found fame after competing in the show in 2002 during its Channel 4 years, and in the past she’s been open about potentially being involved in the recent ITV revival.

However, now she’s insisted she wouldn’t return to the programme, hinting that she’s rather focus on new projects and adventures.

Speaking to Gaby Roslin on her Magic Radio Show: ‘I’ve just got asked, and I said, “No.” Yeah, they asked me, and I said no. I wouldn’t do it again. I just think I’ve done it, haven’t I?’

Despite playing down the idea of a return, Alison is still grateful for how Big Brother changed her life for the better.

‘I was the second person to be evicted. It’s unbelievable. When you like, look back that chain of events was so correct for me,’ she said.

She added: ‘If I’d won it, I don’t think my life would have gone in the same direction. I just so grateful to Big Brother.’

Back in 2023 when there were rumblings about the ITV revival, Alison insisted at the time she was open to at least listening to offers to host the show, although AJ Odudu and Will Best eventually landed the roles.

She told Metro at the time: ‘I’ve not been offered that role at all, but obviously if it came my way who knows? I’d have to think about it, definitely.

‘I mean I started my whole journey on Big Brother, my career started from there, so I owe it a lot.

‘I love the show, I’m a massive fan of the show so yeah, I would love to do that!’

Although Alison won’t be involved, Celebrity Big Brother is set to return on April 7.

Hosted by AJ and Will, the opening night is billed as a special event called Celebrity Big Brother: Live Launch, which will see a new host of celebrities enter the Big Brother house.

The line-up for Celebrity Big Brother 2025 is yet to be officially announced by ITV, but several big names have been rumoured already.

Coronation Street star Jack P Shepherd, who plays David Platt on the ITV soap, has reportedly signed up, following in the footsteps of his former co-star Colson.

Olympic gold-winner Daley Thompson is also rumoured to be heading into the house, with bosses reportedly hoping that he’ll spark some controversy thanks to his ‘unwoke’ attitude.

Meanwhile, it’s believed Alison is preparing for the reboot of iconic BBC game show Hole In The Wall.

In March there was a listing to secure free tickets to a taping of the pilot (tipped to be televised in the next few weeks) which will happen on April 10.

Earlier this year, it was reported Alison would follow in the footsteps of Anton Du Beke and the late Dale Winton as host.

‘Hole In The Wall got great ratings when it first came out so the Beeb have decided to bring it back,’ a source told The Sun at the time.

‘They are currently filming the pilot to see how it shapes up. They wanted to sign Alison and she jumped at the chance to do it.’
