The Minister of Economy, Employment and Digital Transformation, Guillermo Santamaría, has held a new working meeting with representatives of the family business association, AEEF, to advance the implementation of measures regarding the lack of labor, the administrative simplification or the generational relief plan, “in which we are incorporating their necessary contributions.”

Santamaría stressed that Extremadura GDP grew by 2.5% in the third quarter of 2024, a data that has been known today. He has also pointed out the upward revision of the BBVA Research, going from 2 to 2.7% and that involves advancing to Asturias, Cantabria and the Basque Country. Agriculture and services promoted the regional economy between July and September.

One of the issues analyzed at today’s meeting has been the generational relief of the family business. “The government of María Guardiola defends the generational relief in economic activity, in general, and in the family business, in particular, as a key to strengthening territorial cohesion, especially in rural and depopulated areas,” said Santamaría.

For this reason, “we are going to launch an ambitious generational relief plan for the family business. They are aid, which will allow, for example, young people to continue the family business or encourage the continuity of a local trade,” explained the counselor .

The AEEF is concerned about the lack of work and “we have transmitted our concern and involvement in this topic with concrete measures, such as the training plans that we are developing from the employment area, tailored to the needs they raise us Companies, or the digital talent plan that will form more than 2,000 people with an investment of 4.5 million euros. “

Regarding the need for administrative simplification, Santamaría has referred to the fact that measures that are impacting on the considerable reduction of management and response times are being applied, minimizing the application for documents and data, in addition to eliminating barriers and improving efficiency.

On behalf of the AEEF, the president, Juan Carmona; The vice president, Susana Rodríguez, and the director of the association, Ángel Martín. The general director of the company, Celina Pérez, has also participated in this meeting.

Currently, the AEEF has 122 business families for a total of 500 companies, whose aggregate billing is 5.6 billion euros, which represents around 30% of the regional private GDP, according to data provided by this association. The counselor has indicated that they are very present in the policies that are implemented from the government of María Guardiola.
