Peaky Blinders fans have been sent wild as Netflix dropped a huge update over the upcoming film.

Oppenheimer star Cillian Murphy is reprising his role as Tommy Shelby for the ‘explosive’ movie.

The beloved BBC series originally ran from 2013 to 2022, and is now returning with Saltburn actor Barry Keoghan starring opposite Cillian.

And Netflix has given fans an early Christmas present with an image of the two in character, revealing filming has officially wrapped up.

‘That’s a wrap. The Peaky Blinders film has completed production,’ a statement on the streaming service’s social media read.

It showed a picture of Oscar winner Cillian, 48, as Birmingham gangster Tommy with his trademark flat cap smiling opposite Barry, who is dressed in a grey suit and similar hat.

Fans are now begging for one thing – that Peaky Blinders drops on the big screen.

‘WHEN’S THE F**KIN’ PREMIERE IN THE movies, WE’RE WAITING WITH WHOLE FAMILY TO GO TO CINEMA,’ @crowoftoday wrote.

‘Make it happen on the big screens please,’ @pratik.stdio.h added.

@manisra47 said: ‘We need a theatrical release, by order of the Peaky Blinders.’

Fan account @cillianxuniverse added: ‘It would be a dream to see the movie on the big screen in the cinemas. Love this picture.’

‘Would of loved to have seen this on the big screen,’ @catley1990 also said on X.

‘Please release in Theatres man . It would be legendary,’ @Aksh2407 echoed.

The Banshees Of Inisherin star Barry, 32, is playing an undisclosed role in the film, which is believed to be titled The Immortal Man and is set following the events of sixth season of the original BBC show.

Written by creator Steven Knight, the new movie is set during the Second World War, and is teased to involve new conflicts for the Shelby family.

When the series came to an end in 2022 after nine years, Tommy appeared to put his criminal past behind him.

The series has tackled the rise of fascism, Irish republican politics and communist activities throughout the period after the First World War – along with Tommy’s ambitions in politics.

Returning cast includes British actors Stephen Graham as union organiser Hayden Stagg and Sophie Rundle as Ada Shelby, while Dune actress Rebecca Ferguson and Pulp Fiction actor Tim Roth have also joined for the film.

Peaky Blinders will return on Netflix in 2025.
