The quick thinking and bravery of a woman’s dog saved her from a potentially dangerous situation in Bowmanville over the weekend. According to Durham Regional Police, the woman was walking her dog on a pathway when a stranger approached her and grabbed her by the neck, demanding that she come with him.

Thanks to her loyal canine companion, the woman was able to break free from the man and escape unharmed. The suspect, described as a Black male in his early 30s with distinctive features including a large neck tattoo, fled the scene.

Authorities are urging anyone with information or video footage of the incident to come forward and contact the police. The victim’s harrowing experience serves as a reminder of the importance of being vigilant and having a trusted companion by your side in times of need.
