Manchester United legend set to be handed new role by Ineos due to ‘misleading’ job title
Darren Fletcher is set to be reassigned as part of Ineos’ behind-the-scenes reshuffle at Manchester United with his current job title not reflective of his role.
United’s new minority owners are currently focused on overhauling the non-playing structure at Old Trafford, with incoming chief executive Omar Berrada kicking off the revolution when he arrives in the summer from Manchester City following an extensive period of gardening leave.
Ineos have also agreed a deal that will see Dan Ashworth join from Newcastle as the club’s first-ever sporting director – though they have yet to negotiate a compensation fee.
In addition to Ashworth, Ineos also want to bring in a head of recruitment to work directly under the former FA chief and have most recently been linked with a move for Crystal Palace’s Dougie Freedman.
