This Morning fans have said they were left ‘in tears’ after the programme introduced a new hoover expert following the death of Matty Lock.
Last year Lock was found dead at the age of 19, with it later being revealed he took his own life.
Over the years he had made several appearances on the daytime programme, reviewing vacuum cleaners and sharing his love for them.
Now, four months on, a new hoover expert has joined the show.
On Friday’s episode of the ITV breakfast programme, hosts Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary joined newcomer Grace for a segment on the best hoovers to buy in 2024.
Despite her segment going off without a hitch, some viewers did say it might take them awhile to adjust to the change and were emotional whilst remembering Lock.

‘Shame This Morning didn’t mention Matty Lock the young 19 yr old that use to do the hoovers on This Morning as a bit of a tribute who died only September last yr,’ user KTS64 posted on X.
‘Anyone else feel a bit uncomfortable with this vaccuum segment giving the loss of Matty Lock. Perhaps at least mention him to the viewers? RIP,’ Boris Nose posted.
Another, user Bob’s mate, added: ‘I can’t watch the hoovering bit without a tear in my eye! This Morning RIP Matty Lock. Would be nice if they do a in reference at the end of the programme!’
This Morning paid tribute to Lock last year when they released a statement following his death.
It read: ‘Everyone at This Morning is shocked and saddened to hear of the passing of Matty Lock, aged just 19.
‘He was a delightful young man, a joy to work with and his passion for vacuum cleaners and general mechanics was infectious.

‘His family came to the studio and they were so proud that he’d turned a childhood hobby into a career.’
The statement concluded: ‘We will miss him and send our condolences to his family.’
Holly Willoughby, who presented the show at the time, also shared a photo of the late presenter on her Instagram.
‘So shocked and saddened to hear the news today. Matty was a wonderful person with a true passion for what he did…’ she wrote.
‘My love goes out to his friends and family at what must be a very difficult time.’
At the age of two Lock had developed a passion for vacuum cleaners after getting a toy Henry.
Back in 2018, aged just 13, he sold around 300 machines to cleaning companies, private homeowners, and his teachers.
As well as his role on This Morning, Lock was also a member of the Labour Party in Sefton and Merseyside.
He had been elected town councillor in Maghull shortly before his death and was also a parish councillor in Lydiate.
