There have been a number of major character returns to Coronation Street in the past two weeks, but fans suspect that there could be more on the cards after several mentions of Jacob Hay (Jack James Ryan) in recent episodes.
Jacob was chased out of Weatherfield by evil dad Damon Hay (Ciaran Griffith) early last year when he refused to hide drugs for him.
The youngster had been determined to turn his life around when Damon arrived, and set him back on his path with his demands that he smuggle drugs through the Bistro.
When Jacob rebelled, Damon threatened him and the safety of girlfriend Amy Barlow (Elle Mulvaney), so he had no choice but too run away.

However, with Damon and brother Harvey Gaskell (Will Mellor) both having returned to the show, fans are wondering if Jacob will follow.
Twitter/X users Matt and Jamie both pointed out that Jacob had been mentioned several times in recent scenes, which can sometimes be a hint that a character is set to come back.
Both fans seemed to like the idea of him returning, and they weren’t the only ones.

Dan revealed that Jacob was a favourite character, while Westie called for Jacob to return with his great aunt, Sharon.
In recent scenes, Damon paid Harvey a visit in prison, and made it clear to his brother that he was done with their criminal life style.
Does this mean it would be safe for Jacob to come back?
If he did end up returning, Jacob would be one of several characters heading back to Corrie this year.

On top of that, Bethany Platt’s (Lucy Fallon) return caused mayhem for Daisy Midgeley (Charlotte Jordan), and it looks as though the two women are set for a long rivalry.
