Elvis Presley, who died in 1977 aged 42, is set to make his big return to London – or at least an AI version of him.
We’ve already been graced with giant, holographic versions of the Abba members, and this year will see the King of Rock and Roll make an appearance in a similar fashion.
London is to become the first city in the world to see AI Elvis perform on stage as part of the immersive experience Elvis Evolution.
British company Layered Reality made a deal with the owners of Elvis Presley’s estate to create the likeness and experience in London, with the likes of Las Vegas, Tokyo and Berlin to follow.
The deal gave the company access to thousands of personal photographs and clips to create a never-before-seen version of the Suspicious Minds singer to celebrate his legacy.
It’s understood the immersive experience will involve a mix of live actors, theatrical sets and virtual reality, as well as special themed food and drink, a drinks reception, live music and performances.

The golden event however will be the life-sized, digital Elvis performing on stage for ticketholders.
Elvis Evolution will arrive in central London in November of this year, with presale tickets going on general sale in June; fans can sign up for the presale and updates on the Layered Reality website.

Founder and CEO of Layered Reality, Andrew McGuinness, said Elvis Evolution ‘is a next generation tribute to the musical legend that is Elvis Presley.’
‘Elvis maintains superstar status globally and people around the world no longer want to sit there and passively receive entertainment – they want to be a part of it.
‘It’ll be a memory-making experience that will be a bucket list item for Elvis fans and admirers around the world; people can step into the world of Elvis, walk in his shoes and celebrate his extraordinary musical legacy.’
President of Entertainment at Authentics Brands said the company was ‘thrilled to … give fans a new, immersive way of experiencing Elvis Presley’s life and legacy.’
