Liverpool’s Kostas Tsimikas injured in bizarre collision with Jurgen Klopp

Liverpool full-back Kostas Tsimikas was forced out of the clash with Arsenal through injury after a high-speed clash with his own manager, Jurgen Klopp.

The scored was 1-1 in the first-half after goas from Gabriel and Mohamed Salah when the incident happened in front of the Liverpool dugout.

Tsimikas and Bukayo Saka were chasing down the ball near the touchline when the Arsenal winger shoulder barged the Greek left-back.

The firm shove saw Tsimikas fly off the pitch and into the feet of his manager, with Klopp falling over his own player and onto the deck.

The German was up quickly and unharmed but Tsimikas stayed down and looked in a lot of pain.

It was quickly signalled that Joe Gomez would need to be stripped and ready to replace the Greek, who held his arm in a makeshift sling, suggesting he may have dislocated his shoulder in the collision, although a diagnosis is yet to be confirmed.

It will be a worry for Liverpool as Tsimikas is only playing because first-choice left-back Andy Robertson is sidelined with a shoulder injury of his own.

However, Klopp confirmed on Friday that the Scot is nearing a return and should be back in action next month.

‘I sat with [Robertson] yesterday and he’s doing well,’ Klopp said. ‘Shoulder is not there but rest of body is fine, we need to be patient.

‘He can do physical work but he is not allowed to train with the ball, which annoys him. It’s a short time until he will be back; we hope January.’
