Coronation Street spoilers: Audrey Roberts makes a game-changing new discovery about serial killer son Stephen Reid

Audrey Roberts (Sue Nicholls) has caused quite a stir among the Platt family in recent Coronation Street episodes with her decision to read serial killer son Stephen Reid’s (Todd Boyce) diary.

David Platt’s (Jack P Shepherd) trawl through the pages led to him making a huge discovery about sister Sarah Platt (Tina O’Brien), which he soon caused a ruckus by revealing.

Sarah was quick to confront mum Gail Platt (Helen Worth) about what David had told her, and asked if it was true that she hadn’t been sure who her dad was when she was pregnant.

What upset Sarah the most was the fact that she had been in a similar predicament not so long ago, but Gail hadn’t said a word.

While Gail, Sarah and David argued, Audrey took herself, and Stephen’s diary, off to the Kabin, where she unintentionally sparked a new mission for Jenny Connor and Carla Barlow (Sally Ann Matthews and Alison King).

Earlier in the episode, Jenny had made a discovery on Stephen’s computer. She found a file that was password protected, but had been opened for the last time just moments before he had transferred the money from the Underworld account.

With a sneaky suspicion that the document may contain answers to the whereabouts of the money, Jenny took her findings to Carla, who demanded that they go to the police instantly.

Unfortunately, as iconic as she is, DS Swain (Vicky Myers) couldn’t do a lot with it, leaving Jenny and Carla back where they started trying to work out what the password could be.

Cue Audrey and Stephen’s diary.

As Audrey bought herself a box of chocolates and explained the drama Stephen’s little book had caused, Carla tried to get a sneak peek, but was soon caught in the act.

Unphased, Audrey revealed that she was going to finish reading the diary in secret, knowing that Gail would likely set fire to it if she ever saw it again.

Once Audrey had left, Carla pointed out that she had seen lists in the book, and with Jenny certain that it would contain Stephen’s passwords, they realised that they had to get their hands on it.

Will they manage it, or will the Underworld money be gone forever?
