Evelyn faced an upsetting realisation (Picture: ITV)
At the start of this week in Coronation Street, Evelyn Plummer (Maureen Lipman) was left terrified when an evil thug held her hostage in the local shop.
Terry tried to get revenge on Evelyn after she took his dog from his van. The beloved character absolutely loves dogs and saw Terry mistreating the innocent pooch, so she took her from his van and headed back to the cobbles with the dog beside her.
On Monday (December 11), Terry locked himself and Evelyn in Dev’s (Jimmi Harkishin) shop and demanded she returned his dog.
Fortunately, Evelyn broke free from Terry’s grasp and was able to unlock the door so Dev and Gary (Mikey North) could enter.

That evening, Tyrone (Alan Halsall) told Evelyn that reporting Terry to the police would be a mistake, as his behaviour would just get worse.
In tonight’s (December 13) episode of the ITV soap, Tyrone was faced with Terry again.
The angry man said that if Taylor the dog didn’t get returned by 6pm, there’d be trouble.

This left Tyrone rattled, knowing Terry’s dog was at a rescue centre.
Back at home, once Evelyn discovered the update, she instructed Ty to go to the centre and collect the dog. She was heartbroken but told Tyrone and Cassie (Claire Sweeney) that she’ll obviously protect her grandson first over an animal.
Fortunately, Tyrone then returned home, earlier than expected.
He told Cassie and Evelyn that he couldn’t let Taylor go back to Terry and reported him to the police instead.

That evening, Tyrone learnt that Terry had been arrested.
While it was a positive step, Tyrone and Evelyn both feared what might happen next, but will Terry face the consequences?
Or will he spin the story in his favour as Cassie said?
As the storyline continues, Evelyn and Cassie will discover Terry has been running a puppy farm from his home.

To ensure the accuracy of this storyline, Coronation Street is working with the RSPCA.
Their inspector and performing animal welfare expert, Herchy Boal, was on set at all times to keep an eye on the welfare of the dogs being used for filming.

Show boss Iain MacLeod said: ‘It was hugely important to us to work with the RSPCA on this storyline, both in terms of the accuracy of the on-screen narrative and also the welfare of the animals on set during filming. It is a really important story to tell, but it was also vital to make sure it was fun for the actors’ canine co-stars – and as all our behind-the-scenes footage shows, it certainly was!’
