The iconic Apple laptop used by Carrie Bradshaw to write her Sex And The City columns could be all yours – for the price of a new MacBook.
The black Apple PowerBook G3 laptop was a regular character in the groundbreaking series, its then upside down logo a regular companion as Carrie’s inner monologue brought each episode to an end.
It will go under the hammer on Thursday, December 14 at the four-day Hollywood Legends auction hosted by Julien’s Auctions and Turner Classic Movies in Beverly Hills, and is expected to fetch between $800 and $1,200 (£630 – £950).
A new MacBook Air 13″ starts from £999.
The auction house describes the laptop as not only one of the most famous in history, but also ‘custom programmed to hammer out her memorable articles at the mashing of any keys on the keyboard – so Sarah could just type away’.

Then again, Carrie never was the most tech savvy.
The G3 met its demise in episode eight of season four when it suffered a fatal crash, during which it transpired Carrie had backed up none of the work from which she made an inexplicably well-paid living in the world’s most expensive city.
Other Luddite tendencies shown by the show’s star include dated phones – think the pink, bedazzled Motorola flip phone hurled in the sea while Carrie was on her ‘honeymoon’ in Mexico, days after being unable to unlock Samantha’s iPhone.
Later in the film she professed she could ‘barely text’, and by the time And Just Like That rolled around, she was still using pretty dated iPhones.
Nevertheless, her trusty laptop has certainly earned its place in tech and TV history – even spending a few years on display in the Smithsonian.
