A manhunt is underway after a shooting left two teenagers dead and four others injured on Friday night.

The incident took place just before midnight at a Halloween party in Mansfield, in the US state of Ohio.

Police report they have collected guns and drugs from the scene as evidence, and that the suspect remains at large as of Saturday morning.

A press release from the Mansfield Department of Police: ‘The Mansfield Division of Police, Major Crimes Unit is actively working on a Double Homicide and Four Felonious Assaults in the City of Mansfield.’

Emergency services received multiple calls after people in the vicinity heard shots fired and saw Halloween revellers running from the property on Ferndale road.

The deceased have not yet been identified but are reported to have been aged 17 and 18.

The other victims, whose ages ranged between 14 and 19, were taken to hospital.

Mansfield Department of Police said: ‘A group of subjects fled the scene on foot and in vehicles from witness accounts.

‘Subjects at the party were not able to give a good description of the suspect or suspects or any vehicles.’

Lieutenant Robert J. Skropits added: ‘We are asking for the help of the community in identifying the suspects in these heinous crimes.’

The killings represent the 10th and 11th murders to have taken place in Mansfield since January.

It’s not the only real-life horror story to have taken place around the Halloween holiday in recent years.
