Coleen and Wayne Rooney’s son Kai, 13, is literally his double at Wagatha documentary screening

There was no mistaking whose son Kai Rooney was as he joined his famous parents at the Wagatha Christie screening.

Kai, 13, posed alongside mum Coleen Rooney, 37, and dad Wayne Rooney, also 37, at the Everyman in Liverpool on Wednesday night (October 18).

Celebrating the release of Coleen’s new Disney documentary, The Real Wagatha Story, the teenager looked very smart.

Wearing a black suit with a white shirt, but keeping it cool with trainers, the footballer was the spitting image of his dad.

Kai – who plays as a forward for Manchester United’s youth academy – stood on one side of Coleen while Wayne stood on the other, sporting exactly the same facial expression.

The eldest Rooney boy – a brother to Klay, 10, Kit, seven, and Cass, five – later joined his mum for some solo shots, both beaming on the pink carpet with an arm around each other.

While Birmingham City manager Wayne scrubbed up well in a navy blazer and jeans, Coleen brought glamour in a floor-length black velvet gown with lace detailing.

The TV personality and author wore her hair up with loose wavy strands framing her face and opted for a glowy make-up look.

Coleen was joined by other well-known figures as she marked the release of her documentary, with the likes of Danielle Lloyd, Jordan Pickford and his partner Megan Davison also in attendance.

The star’s documentary tells her version of events surrounding the trial that gripped the nation last year.

To jog your memory, Coleen accused former friend Rebekah Vardy, 41, of selling fake stories about her to the press in 2019 in a now-viral social media post.

Coleen launched a months-long sting operation and acquired the moniker Wagatha Christine in the process as she investigated, while Rebekah – who is married to Jamie Vardy – continued to deny the allegations.

Fellow Wag Rebekah then took Coleen to the High Court for a libel battle, with a judge finding the latter’s post to be ‘substantially true’.

As a result, Rebekah was ordered to pay up to £1.5million towards Coleen’s legal fees.

Fast forward to now and the whole thing has been put together in a Disney Plus extravaganza, although not everyone is so fussed about the mum-of-four’s journey into documentary-making.

Following the release of her trailer, Coleen received a flurry of comments from followers who, quite frankly, just want her to move on.

Many insisted they no longer ‘care’ about the Wagatha Christie saga, while another blasted that she was ‘scraping the barrel of entertainment’.

Coleen, however, has remained proud of the doc and expressed why it meant so much to her.

Speaking about the two-month trial in the three-part series, Coleen shared that the whole legal ordeal actually made her quite unwell.

‘It caused anxiety and there were lots of tears,’ she said.

‘I have reactive arthritis. I’ve had it previously, but this situation brought it on a lot more.

‘It stripped me of my character, and I didn’t want to socialise with people. I was completely in my own world. It was not a nice place to be.’

She described the process as ‘quite intense’ and admitted she didn’t think the matter would ‘explode’ like it did.

Coleen Rooney: The Real Wagatha Story is streaming now on Disney Plus.
