One of the biggest music acts in the world is reportedly set to grace Glastonbury Festival 2024 – for the first time ever.

Rumours are abound that the Queen of Pop, Madonna herself, is to headline the iconic festival in Worthy Farm, Somerset next year.

Shockingly, like Sir Elton John – who closed the festival in June of this year – Madge has never performed at Glastonbury before, and should the rumours be true, she’s set to make her debut with a massive bang.

It’s reported that the 65-year-old will headline the Pyramid stage next summer, off the back of her massive Celebration Tour which recently saw her stun crowds at the O2 in London.

Madge is preparing to tour all across Europe before returning for a final show in London and then on to North America – but it might not be long before she’s back in Britain.

According to The Sun, Madonna is in advanced talks to headline the legendary festival, with her team planning an absolutely massive show for the over-200,000 revellers.

(Not to mention those watching from home, which this year saw a record-breaking 21.6 million people tune in on the BBC TV coverage.)

A source told the outlet that ‘negotiations are well under way’ between Glastonbury organiser Emily Eavis and Madonna’s manager, and ‘both teams are keen to make it happen.’

They teased that ‘striking a deal shouldn’t be a problem.’

It’s clear Madge’s recent London show had a huge effect on organiser Emily, who watched the Queen perform and was ‘blown away,’ with the source adding she was ‘desperate to get [Madonna] on the Pyramid Stage next year.’

Tickets for Glastonbury 2024 go on sale next month, on Sunday, November 5 – and like every year, are expected to sell out.

This despite the fact that, for the second year in a row, prices for tickets are rising, this year jumping another £20, coming to £355 plus a £5 booking fee.

Last year’s tickets saw a 26% increase on its previous £265 price tag, though Emily, daughter of festival founder Michael Eavis, defended the rise.

She said: ‘We’re facing enormous rises in the costs of running this vast show, while still recovering from the huge financial impact of two years without a festival because of Covid.

‘In these incredibly challenging times, we want to continue to bring you the best show in the world and provide our charities with funds which are more vital than ever.’

It comes after Madonna wowed crowds at London’s O2 Arena in a show that was initially delayed due to a major health scare fo the LIke A Prayer star, who was in ICU earlier this year.

The opening and second night of the Celebration Tour in London was unfortunately plagued by tech errors, resulting in a delayed start for the epic 140-minute set which included pyrotechnics, flying stages and incredibly raunchy moments.

Metro.co.uk has contacted reps for Madonna for comment.
