Express Sport – Point of honour – Newcastle hold lively AC Milan to draw as Champions League returns

The back page of the Daily Express reports on Newcastle’s first appearance in the Champions League in 20 years. Newcastle faced AC Milan in a lively game that ended 0-0. The paper describes it as Toons ‘’hold firm against AC onslaught.” It was a game of two halves, with AC dominating much of the first half and Newcastle coming into the match during the second. 

The back page looks ahead to Manchester United’s first Champions League game against a Harry Kane-led Bayern Munich in Germany on Wednesday. 

The paper also reports on Man City’s 3-1 win against Red Star Belgrade, describing the win as a ‘comeback’ after the defending Champions League winners went 1-0 down at halftime.
