Lydia needs Kim’s help (Picture: ITV)
Kim (Claire King) is a big fan of loyalty, but she’s not so great at giving it back, even when it’s Lydia (Karen Blick), who has stuck by her side for years, doing the asking in Emmerdale.
For the second time this year, Kim shows Lydia absolutely no loyalty, having previously sacked the housekeeper after blaming Sam (James Hooton) for Will’s (Dean Andrews) missing watch – actually taken by baby Thomas.
The pair have repaired their friendship, but when Lydia asks for help, Kim is not prepared to give it.
Sam finds an old dolls house in a skip and brings it home to do up for Esther’s birthday. It’s a nostalgic exercise for Lydia as it reminds her of the one she had in the children’s home. But they’re clearly hard up if they can’t afford to buy her a new gift.
The Dingles’ money worries have struck again, particularly with everything that’s going on with Dan (Liam Fox) – Lydia and Sam feel a responsibility to Amelia (Daisy Campbell) and baby Esther.

But with her pal in need again, Kim refuses to dip her hand into her pocket. Lydia asks Kim for more hours to help with the financial burden. But Kim is not in a generous mood and gives her a no.
