Viewers were in stitches over the court re-enactment of Prince Harry put on by GB News on Tuesday night, praising the actor chosen as ‘a hoot’.
The Duke of Sussex, 38, faced hours of questioning at the High Court today and became the first royal to testify in court in 130 years today.
He is involved as part of a case with 100 other celebrities against Mirror Group Newspapers (MGN), now owned by Reach Plc.
The royal is suing MGN for damages, claiming journalists at its titles were linked to methods including phone hacking, ‘blagging’ or gaining information by deception, and the use of private investigators for unlawful activities. He is one of four claimants in the trial.
Alongside Sky News, GB News was another broadcaster who opted to hire an actor to perform Prince Harry’s testimony from today in reconstructed court scenes to rather hilarious effect.
On Dan Wootton Tonight, the fake Prince Harry donned a white shirt, black tie and dark suit for his performance, and was filmed from various angles in front of wooden panelled walls to stand in for the court setting.

He was also questioned by a stand-in barrister in black robes and a very cheap looking white wig, who was only filmed over the shoulder.
‘These #princeharry reconstructions are hilarious,’ commented one viewer, while another said: ‘The Harry on Wootton is a hoot.’
‘The chap who is portraying Prince Harry on GB News is hilariously over the top,’ chimed in someone else.
‘The re-enactment is really creepy!’ added another viewer.

Prince Harry’s acting alter-ego certainly seemed keen to nail the royal’s distinct tone of voice and style of speaking, although one viewer criticised him for ‘whispering a bit’.
‘Apparently it’s far better than Sky’, they observed, however.
Wootton’s panel couldn’t resist complimenting the actor portraying Prince Harry either, with journalist Amanda Platell asking if she could have a copy of the video to take home and US media personality Megyn Kelly stating: ‘I like his version of Prince Harry better.’
The Duke today also gave his view on Piers Morgan and other journalists allegedly ‘earwigging’ Princess Diana’s private messages, saying it makes him ‘physically sick’.

Andrew Green KC, the lawyer for Mirror Group Newspapers (MGN), has described Harry’s case as ‘fantastical’
He said: ‘There is simply no evidence capable of supporting the finding that the Duke of Sussex was hacked, still less on a habitual basis.’
