Sergio Ramos has urged Harry Kane to join Real Madrid ahead of Manchester United this summer.
United have made the Tottenham forward their top target for the upcoming transfer window with Erik ten Hag already making it clear that a new striker is needed in order for his squad to progress.
However, United are now set to face competition from Real Madrid as they seek a replacement for Karim Benzema, who has accepted a €100 million (£85.8m)-per-season deal to join Saudi Arabian side Al-Ittihad.
Tottenham’s preference would be to sell Kane to an overseas club and Ramos, who won 22 trophies in his 16-year stint at Madrid, believes the England captain would be the perfect fit for the Spanish club.
‘My advice to any player is don’t turn down the opportunity to play for Real Madrid – it is a special club who know how to win,’ Ramos told The Mirror.

‘He [Kane] has an incredible physical presence, you can’t score as many goals as he does in the Premier League and not be able to play the physical side of the game.
‘But also he can play the technical side of the game as well and I don’t think he gets enough credit for that.
‘Yes, he is a great goal scorer but also he is a great football player as well.’

Ramos has also stressed that Benzema’s successor needs to cope with the ‘pressure and expectation’ of playing for Madrid.
‘He [Benzema] has contributed to so much success with Real Madrid you will never be able to replace him – he is one of those players who is unique in the history of Madrid,’ Ramos said.
‘What you do need to do though is bring in a quality forward who can come in and score goals.
‘Not everybody can play for Real Madrid as there is so much pressure and expectation – so it needs to be the right player.’
