Manchester United and Manchester City fans heading down from the North West face a nightmare journey to today’s FA Cup final at Wembley stadium.

Owing to industrial action by RMT and ASLEF, there are no rail services operating at all between Manchester and London today.

As such, the FA has secured 60 coaches for both clubs to help supporters get to the game, whilst many more will make the long journey by road.

But once the thousands of footy fans have flocked to the capital – there will likely be one more thing to worry about – will the London Underground be running?

Here is everything you need to know about the Tube on FA Cup final day.

Is the Tube running for the FA Cup final?

Thankfully for the supporters of both Manchester clubs, the Tube will be operating normally today (Saturday, June 3).

Normal service is expected on the London Underground, London Overground, and Elizabeth lines.

However, they are all expected to be busier than normal given 90,000 people are expected at Wembley for the final.

This is complicated further by the fact England will be playing Ireland in the third day of their test match at Lord’s, and Beyonce is performing on her Renaissance World Tour at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Supporters travelling from Watford are advised to head to the stadium via the Metropolitan Line to Wembley Park.

Travel to and from the stadium via Wembley Stadium Station using Chiltern Railways services will not be possible.

What is the nearest Tube station to Wembley Stadium?

Wembley Park Station is the dedicated Tube station for Wembley Stadium.

The station is only two stops from Baker Street on the Metropolitan line and it is also served by the Jubilee line for further connections across the Underground.

Alternatively, Wembley Central Station is on the London Underground Bakerloo line.

Supporters travelling by rail should aim to arrive at Wembley stations no later than one hour before kick-off.
