Adam Lambert will be headlining this year’s London Pride, and it’s making us feel mighty excited.

This comes as Pride Month 2023 kicked off yesterday, with lots of celebratory events popping up over the capital to enjoy.

But undoubtedly the main event is on Saturday July 1, when the streets of London will be draped in rainbows for the annual march in celebration of the LGBTQ+ community.

We were holding out for a hero for the occasion, and luckily we’ve struck gold, as 41-year-old Adam will be taking to the stage.

The icon’s first album, Trespassing, became the first by an openly gay artist to reach number one in the USA and Canada – so aside from his incredible talent, we’d say he’s a pretty excellent fit for the part.

Not only will the Runnin’ hitmaker be headlining the event, but his new single – You Make Me Feel (Mighty Real) – released today, will be the official Pride song.

You Make Me Feel (Mighty Real) is Adam’s cover of Sylvester’s 1978 classic

Adam has teamed up with producer Sigala for the disco banger, which is a cover of Sylvester’s 1978 classic of the same name.

Pride in London’s CEO, Christopher Joell-Deshields, said: ‘Adam’s songs are all about inspiring others to be who they truly are, which couldn’t be more fitting following the launch of our campaign, Never March Alone, which shows allyship for the trans community.

Adam originally sang alongside the We Will Rock You icons in 2009 during his time on American Idol, and together with original rockers Brian May and Roger Taylor he went on to form breakoff group, Queen + Adam Lambert in 2011.

This came of course after legendary Queen frontman Freddie Mercury died aged 45 in 1991 from pneumonia resulting from AIDS.

    This is mighty exciting.
