The following article contains major spoilers for Monday’s (May 15) Hollyoaks episode, which can now be viewed on All 4 but has yet to air on TV.
Hollyoaks has confirmed a tragic outcome for Juliet Nightingale’s (Niamh Blackshaw) cancer storyline, with the character receiving heartbreaking news in scenes which can now be streamed on All4.
Juliet, as viewers know, has been receiving treatment for Hodgkin’s lymphoma, which she was diagnosed with last year, with stronger treatment later offered due to the aggressiveness of the disease.
The subsequent treatment resulted in her getting good news from doctors, but was told that she’d need more chemo in addition to a stem cell transplant, later setting off to Birmingham to receive the operation.
But after contracting a kidney infection, the operation was unable to take place, with a subsequent bout of norovirus resulting in her ending up in Dee Valley hospital.
Peri Lomax (Ruby O’Donnell), meanwhile, was hopeful in Monday’s (May 15) edition of the Channel 4 soap, manifesting a positive future with Juliet, who she hoped would be allowed to return home.

There is, however, more heartbreak on the cards, with scenes towards the end of the episode seeing Dr Stephens, who has overseen much of Juliet’s treatments, issue a heartbreaking update.
Juliet’s kidney function hasn’t improved, with the doctor confirming that the cancer has once again spread, with her recent illness meaning that she wasn’t able to receive the chemo she needed.

”We feel we’re not able to give you the stem cell transplant and you’re not well enough to withstand further treatment, I’m afraid,’ he says, which stuns both Peri and Juliet.
Peri is adamant that there must be more they can do, but Dr Stephens issues the heartbreaking news that there is no more treatment he can offer.
