Assassin’s Creed Mirage – the newest entry will be something of a return to form for the series as it ditches the roleplaying elements (pic: Ubisoft)
Ahead of any launch date reveal, a supposed retail employee claims Assassin’s Creed Mirage is out in three months.
Video game leaks have only grown more and more common over the years, but Assassin’s Creed Mirage may be one of the leakiest games ever.
Almost every facet of it has been given away ahead of any official statement from Ubisoft, including its own existence, and now you can potentially add its launch date to the pile.
Apparently, the latest entry in the franchise is scheduled for an August launch, which would line up with previous claims regarding Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed plans.
The source of this newest leak is a self-proclaimed GameStop employee, who uploaded a picture of a computer screen detailing marketing for upcoming launches.
There is some scepticism that this could just be a placeholder, but the same person – Reddit user mynameisusername7 – shared a second picture that lists the game’s street date as December 31, a commonly used placeholder date.
Another user, 8_5_2018, who claims to have worked at GameStop before leaving last month, states that Assassin’s Creed Mirage’s launch date changed at least three times already, implying that it could just as easily happen again.
‘At least internally, GameStop consistently messed up quite a few release dates in their item system,’ they say.
‘We also had frequent marketing mistakes in the last few months I was there – e.g., when we got marketing materials in February, they swapped Bayonetta Origins and the new Kirby game’s release dates.’

With the new Assassin’s Creed still scheduled for 2023, Ubisoft will likely have an official launch date at its summer showcase, which takes place on June 12.
Maybe it’ll also have a date for the perennially delayed Skull And Bones too. That game is also included in the leaked GameStop picture, but its release window has been cut off, leaving it unclear if GameStop thinks it’s still on track for 2023 or if it could be pushed into 2024.
Assassin’s Creed Mirage launches for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC.
