I’m A Celebrity… South Africa is almost here, and we’ve been given a first glimpse at what to expect.

The South Africa episodes gives a twist on the usual I’m A Celeb, as it’s made up of celebs who previously took part in the popular ITV reality competition, giving it the initial moniker of I’m A Celeb All Stars.

Very soon, fans will be able to see  Amir Khan, Shaun Ryder, Carol Vorderman, Jordan Banjo, Paul Burrell, Phil Tufnell, Helen Flanagan, Fatima Whitbread, and Janice Dickinson deal with life in the South African bush – but until then, we have a small insight on what to expect.

First images have been released of the premiere episode due to air on Monday, and fans will be happy to know it looks absolutely chaotic.

In keeping with I’m A Celeb tradition, the stars are dropped off into the middle of the jungle – or in this case, bush – and are instantly thrown into chaos with a challenge to get them to base camp.

Often thrown from a helicopter, it looks like this time around the stars are made to jump from a massive height before being bungeed to a series of giant inflatable balls, which they must then jump from to reach the other side.

It looks like an absolute nailbiter – literally in Phil’s case, as he’s pictured looking horrified with his hands over his face as he prepares to make the jump.

Meanwhile, former royal butler Paul is seen grappling with the new environments as he’s snapped screaming – either with fear, shock or glee, it’s hard to tell – as he, Shaun and Janice take on the challenge.

While we’re sure the celebs are safely secured, it certainly looks, and most likely feels, like a life or death situation.

And it looks like the fear really gets under Helen’s skin, as she’s pictured bending over as if to steady herself before she too makes the daring jump.

While fans will have to wait until Monday to see the episode in full, what we do know from the first glimpse is that it’s sure to be a wild ride.

That, and the South African Bush looks gorgeous.

Despite its beauty however, it’s not all fun and games out in the open, as contestant Janice revealed in a recent interview with Metro.co.uk and other press.

The star admitted she lived in fear of birds pecking her eyes out as she slept, as giant creatures she believed were vultures continuously landed by her at night.

In her previous I’m A Celeb stint, Janice was famously bitten by a rat in camp – which she ‘still has bad dreams’ about – and this time around had a similar feaar.

‘Some birds were landing by my cot, I think they were vultures. Huge black birds, going’ – here she did a fairly impressive imitation of a squawk – ‘right by my ear.

‘I was scared they were going to peck my eyes out or something. I was sleeping under my sleeping bag with the zipper all the way up to my head, feeling that something’s going to crawl into my bed at night. It’s quite scary.’

Even with this fear, Janice labelled her South Africa adventure ‘much more pleasant’ than Australia, being more fond of everything fro the campsite to her campmates.

‘The campmates were much more pleasant, the surroundings, there didn’t seem to be as many rodents coming into the campsite as there was in Australia,’ she said.
