While most people don’t remember what they did last weekend, Adam Sandler and Jennifer Anniston well and truly proved their friendship when they recounted – in incredible detail and very quickly – the day they met 30 years ago.
The lifelong pals go way back to the early ’90s when they met having breakfast together in US chain Jerry’s Deli.
Over their three-decade friendship, the pair have starred in three films together, Just Go With It (2011), Murder Mystery (2019) and Murder Mystery 2 (2023), the latter of which they are currently promoting.
But having nodded to the first time they ever met in a few interviews throughout the years, this time the pair went into insane detail about the moment which sparked their close lifelong bond.
When asked about it in a recent Mr and Mrs-style question and answer interview with Netflix, Adam, 56, replied, ‘I know when that happened, do you?’ to which Jennifer, 54, said: ‘Of course I do.’
‘We were young at Jerry’s Deli, and we had breakfast together. You had eggs with ham and cheese, and what did I have?’ the Happy Gilmore actor began.

‘French toast,’ replied the Friends icon within seconds.
‘And I washed it down with?’ he pressed.
‘Oh, oh, chocolate milk!’ replied an enthusiastic Jennifer, before she teased: ‘Like a grown man should.’
That’s some pretty specific details right there for a moment that happened 30 years ago.
But this comes as no shock, as the pair have previously described each other as akin to family.
During a joint appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! in 2019, Jennifer explained, ‘We were friends before Friends,’ before she added: ‘[We love each other]. We must have been real family in another life.’

In the same interview, Jennifer also revealed how she was dating a friend of Adam’s when they shared their Jerry’s Deli moment.
Adam agreed with Jennifer’s sentiment, as he confessed they are ‘so comfortable together’ before he added: ‘She knows my family and I know hers.’
Indeed, the Click actor previously chatted about his wife Jackie and Jennifer’s friendship and how they ‘tag team’ in an attempt to make him healthier.

But they don’t know everything about one another, as Adam was shocked in the recent interview to find out Jennifer’s favourite continent is mayonnaise.
When asked what Jennifer’s favourite yoga pose is, the actor quipped: ‘Oh, that’s easy, downward mayonnaise’.
Murder Mystery 2 is released on March 31 on Netflix.
