Dick Van Dyke was in good spirits following his recent car crash, although he admitted that he was feeling ‘sore all over’ after the collision.
Earlier this week, it was reported that the Mary Poppins star lost control of his car while behind the wheel in Malibu, resulting in the vehicle crashing into a gate.
The 97-year-old was said to have suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene, although he supposedly didn’t want to go to hospital.
In a new video captured of the actor, he was asked how he was feeling after the incident.
‘Pretty good. I’m sore all over,’ he shared, before explaining that the airbags in his car ‘did not deploy’ at the time, and so he ‘just did a faceplant right in the steering wheel’.
Gesturing towards his bottom lip, he added: ‘I have two stitches here.’

In the clip obtained by The New York Post, Van Dyke maintained his signature cheeky wit as he quipped about the accident: ‘Other than that, it just made me a little dumber.’
As the person filming the video continued to question him about how he’s feeling, he said: ‘I’m doing ok. I’m 97. All my friends are dead. I’m still having fun.’
Following the crash, it was claimed that Van Dyke could be made to retake his driving test.

On the day of the crash, officers were called to the scene to find the Chitty Chitty Bang Bang star behind the wheel of a 2018 Lexus LS 500, TMZ reported.
The actor reportedly told the officers that his car slid across the road in the wet weather.
It was concluded that drugs and alcohol weren’t involved in the accident, but due to Van Dyke’s age, he could be asked to retake his driving test, with police reportedly submitting documents to the Department of Motor Vehicles.
In December last year, Van Dyke was all smiles as he was spotted in California out and about for his 97th birthday.
