The latest star has been unveiled on The Masked Singer US… although his identity didn’t come as too much of a surprise to fans or the judging panel.
On Wednesday’s episode of the American version of the singing competition, which has already seen stars including Dick Van Dyke and Grandmaster Flash be sent home, three celebrities – disguised as Gargoyle, Wolf and Squirrel – performed for a superhero-themed show inspired by characters from DC Comics.
After their first performances, Gargoyle and Squirrel were announced as safe, while Wolf was eliminated after belting out Break On Through by The Doors.
As host Nick Cannon asked Wolf to take off their music, judges Nicole Scherzinger, Jenny McCarthy, Ken Jeong and Robin Thicke watched as none other than pop rock singer Michael Bolton was revealed.
Following his unmasking, Michael, 70, admitted that he ‘could get used to being the Wolf’.
It’s great, the audience is great, the show’s great,’ he said, before teasing that he has a new album coming out in spring.

‘It’s about making this a beautiful world, despite what’s going on, whatever the climb we’ve got to do our best to make it a beautiful world,’ he said.
The two-time Grammy Award and six-time American Music Award winner delighted viewers at home, many of whom confessed that they knew it was him all along.
‘I knew Wolf was Michael Bolton as soon as he started singing!’ one person tweeted, while another wrote: ‘Tell me this is not Michael Bolton. I’m not a child of the 90s for nothing,’ in response to his performance.

‘Can’t fool me Michael Bolton,’ someone else quipped alongside a photo of him while his Wolf mask was still on.
Meanwhile, others were astounded that Wolf got the boot, with one person writing: ‘This is how you know that the masked singer is not about the best singers. It’s just entertainment. Who would vote off Michael Bolton if it was about the voice?’
‘How the hell did they choose either of these clowns over Michael Bolton,’ another remarked.
For the DC Superheroes Night on The Masked Singer US, Nicole dressed up as Catwoman, Jenny was Harley Quinn, Ken transformed into the Riddler and Robin decided to dress up like his namesake, Batman’s sidekick Robin.
Nicole also delivered a stellar performance of Holding Out For A Hero, a song first recorded by Bonnie Tyler in 1984 for the movie Footloose.
The Masked Singer US airs on Fox in the US.
