Britney Spears made a loss on her Calabasas home after putting her mansion on the market.

The Toxic hitmaker, 41, has officially offloaded her Californian abode for $10.1million (£8.5m), despite originally putting the property up for sale at around $12million (£10m).

Of course, $10million is by no means a small sum of money, but the amount is a whopping $1.7million (£1.4m) less than she paid for the place just eight months ago, back in summer 2022.

There’s no doubt the house will provide a luxurious lifestyle for whoever moves in next though as, nestled on a 1.6-acre parcel and within the double-gated Estates at the Oaks neighbourhood, the beige-hued stucco and terracotta-roof structure is truly a glamorous space.

Built in 2008, the mansion has seven bedrooms, and nine baths are filtered across a little more than 11,600 sq ft of single-level living space boasting imported onyx, hardwood and stone floors, vaulted ceilings, wide arched hallways, bespoke chandeliers, Ann Sacks mosaic tile designs and hand-carved fireplaces.

Other glitzy amenities include a wine cellar, 10-seat movie theatre with Dolby surround sound, wet bar-equipped lounge and room dedicated solely to gift wrapping, plus a detached one bedroom guesthouse and five-car garage.

However, it’s believed she didn’t love it as much as she has hoped (Picture: One Shot Productions/Backgrid)

The residence boasts a gourmet kitchen with a huge island (Picture: One Shot Productions/Backgrid)

Among the other highlights: a fireside living room and formal dining room, along with a wood-panelled study.

Oh, and as if that wasn’t enough, there’s a gourmet kitchen decked out with a massive centre island, high-end stainless appliances and a breakfast nook, which adjoins a family room that has floor-to-ceiling glass doors opening directly to a 2,000 sq ft patio hosting a fireplace and barbecue station.

There’s an exercise room, walk-in closets, marble bathtubs, a 55-foot pool and spa with a waterslide and tiered waterfalls.

Of course, there’s a home cinema (Picture: One Shot Productions/Backgrid)

Basically, it’s the kind of home you dream of.

It was also located in the same neighbourhood as Britney’s ex, Kevin Federline, with whom she shares sons Sean Preston and Jayden James.

Records indicate the buyer of the vocalist’s property is Ezekiel Tyson Jr., a Dallas-based personal injury attorney and veteran real estate investor.

Meanwhile, Britney and her husband Sam Asghari, 28, still maintain her longtime Italianate-inspired mansion in the Hidden Valley region near Thousand Oaks, CA, which the Piece Of Me hitmaker bought back in 2015.

As for why she decided to sell her Calabasas home, an insider previously told TMZ that Britney wanted a clean slate following the 13 years she spent under a conservatorship upheld by her father Jamie Spears.

It still remains unknown if the chart-topper has started looking elsewhere or if she will permanently live in her old residence, which has become instantly recognisable as the backdrop to the star’s Instagram dance and fashion videos.
