Hearts were broken on Sunday night when Jayde Adams and her partner Karen Hauer became the fourth couple to be eliminated from this series of Strictly Come Dancing.
After facing Molly Rainford and Carlos Gu in the dreaded dance-off with their Charleston for the BBC centenary special, the much-loved pair were forced to hang up their dancing shoes.
But, self-proclaimed Strictly super-fan Jayde is leaving the ballroom with her head held high.
Chatting on Strictly: It Takes Two following her exit, the comedian said she wants to leave a ‘legacy’ behind, after rising above the trolling she’s experienced online and living her best life on the dancefloor.
Speaking with host Rylan Clark, the former Adele tribute act agreed that social media can be ‘the worst place,’ noting that some of the criticism she’s received has been ‘awful.’
However, she has learnt to be resilient, which we’ve seen in her sassy clap backs to people trying to weight shame her on Twitter.

‘I’ve seen the messages, Jayde, and how you’re handling it. I applaud you because that’s why everyone loves you,’ Rylan praised.
‘The reason I tackle it the way I do is because I have, you know, for every horrible comment there’s a whole bunch of lovely ones. But one person gives you a compliment, the other says the opposite, and what do you focus on? But I just hope with my resilience I can show people that, sticks and stones may break our bones, but names will never hurt us.’
Jayde continued: ‘I really hope that’s something I’ve left as a legacy because, I will say, women specifically on this show get it in the neck. Whether it’s me, whether it’s Karen, whether it’s Shirley… the women get it worse than the men. And I just hope that my resilience will change some things in the future.’

The comic’s comments come after head judge Shirley Ballas was forced to defend herself against cruel trolling after some Strictly viewers disagreed with her comments.
She isn’t the first contestant to come out in the judge’s defence, as fellow celeb Fleur East also branded the criticism of Shirley ‘unfair’ and ‘sexist.’
Jayde formed quite a bond with Shirley over the weeks, particularly when she reduced the dancer to tears with her American smooth, which Jayde dedicated to her late sister, Jenna, who died 11 years ago.

Shirley hailed the star a ‘hero’ and thanked her for performing the routine ‘for anyone whose ever lost a loved one.’
After being eliminated from the show, Jayde declared that Strictly is ‘the best thing’ she’s ever done, with the tearful star also telling Rylan that she would sign up again in a heartbeat.

Pro partner Karen declared Jayde an ‘icon’ and said she’s ‘enjoyed every second’ of dancing with her.
Sadly, Jayde won’t return for Strictly’s Halloween episode, but Molly and Carlos survived to dance another week, as the hair, make-up, and props departments prepare to go out for next weekend’s spooky special.
