Good Morning Britain fans were delighted to see Des Coleman presenting the weather on Monday’s programme.

The energetic star joined hosts Richard Madeley and Kate Garraway on the ITV show, where he reported on the heavy rains and flash storms that struck London on Sunday night.

Viewers were over the moon to see Des back on their television screens, with one branding him a ‘refreshing change’.

Haven’t seen Des before? Here’s everything you need to know about him.

    Who is Des Coleman?

Des Coleman, full name Desune, is a Northern Irish actor, singer, and weather presenter.

He is a familiar face on television, having appeared on both ITV and BBC to report on the weather, while also starring in an array of television shows.

When did Des Coleman appear in EastEnders?

Coleman was cast as Lenny Wallace in EastEnders in 1996, his first television job.

Lenny first arrived in Albert Square along with his Welsh friend, Huw Edwards, and they were both employed by George Palmer as barmen for the Cobra Club.

Lenny spent the majority of his time drinking, playing poker, and throwing loud parties, much to the annoyance of his neighbours.

He was also a womaniser and took an immediate shine to Patsy Palmer’s Bianca Jackson with the pair having a one-night stand despite her dating Ricky Butcher.

Coleman remained with the soap until 1999, when Lenny left Walford to work in a West End bar.

Following his stint in EastEnders, Coleman went on to star in the likes of Casualty (2003), The Bill (2004), and Doctors, in which he appeared for two years in 2006.

On stage, he starred in London’s West End’s Rent, Simply Heavenly, and understudied the lead in Trevor Nunn’s musical opera Porgy and Bess.

In 2007, Coleman became the weatherman for BBC’s East Midlands Today but was sacked in 2011 for breaching on-air guidelines.

In 2016, he joined ITV Central’s ITV News Central as the weather presenter. He has also appeared on The One Show.

    How old is Des Coleman?

Des Coleman is 53. He was born in Belfast on 14 March, 1969.

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays at 6am on ITV.
