Ever wondered what it’s like to enjoy a drink at The Queen Victoria in EastEnders? Or to transform into an otherworldly alien on the set of Doctor Who?
Wonder no more, as now’s your chance to make your TV fantasies a reality.
All the way back 100 years ago in 1922, the BBC – known then as the British Broadcasting Company – was founded.
To mark the centenary of the broadcaster, there are several special events going on, including a line-up of BBC-themed dance routines on tonight’s Strictly Come Dancing.
What’s more, the company is opening up the opportunity for members of the public to become extras in their favourite TV shows for ‘15 seconds of fame’.
In the announcement of the initiative, the firm said: ‘To say thank you to you, our audience, for being a part of 100 years of the BBC, we’re inviting big fans of some iconic BBC programmes to spend some time on set and have their 15 seconds of fame.’

Several TV programmes are up for grabs to potentially be featured on, which will entail specific roles if you manage to be chosen.
They include: announcing that the ‘voting is now open’ on Strictly; ordering a drink on EastEnders; lying down as a patient on Casualty; becoming an alien on Doctor Who; making a sound effect on The Archers; or doing some gardening on Gardeners’ World.
The Academy needs to get ready, because we’re about to see some brand new talent on our TV screens! (Albeit in the background).
In order to apply, all people need to do is go on the BBC’s website and click on the programme of their choice that they’d like to appear on.

Entrants must be aged 18 or over, and registration closes at midnight on Friday November 4.
There are, of course, certain terms and conditions that applicants need to adhere to, which includes the opportunity not being open to people who work for the BBC or a BBC Group company, nor anyone who is related to or a partner of someone who falls into that category.
People can only enter once per programme, with 20 participants per programme being chosen at random by Monday November 7.
Each of these participants will be asked to upload a short video ‘following a programme-specific brief’, and the final selections will be completed by Thursday December 8.
So what are you waiting for? Brush off your background-acting skills and get applying!
