Travis Scott has settled his first Astroworld lawsuit nearly one year on from the tragedy, it has been claimed.

Last November, 10 people were killed in a deadly crowd surge at the Sicko Mode rapper’s festival, held in Texas.

Many more were left injured in the crush, with hundreds of lawsuits filed against the dad-of-two, as well as Live Nation and others involved in the event.

The 31-year-old – real name Jacques Webster – reportedly reached a settlement with one victim’s family, after the ordeal.

The family of Axel Acosta, 21, are thought to have settled out of court after launching a lawsuit against the musician.

According to TMZ, their lawyer Tony Buzbee confirmed the news and revealed that terms of the agreement have remained confidential.

Acosta’s loved ones want to ensure that their relative is remembered as a ‘beloved son, brother and student’.

They added that he was ‘kind and loving,’ adding that he is ‘greatly missed’.

The Grammy winner made headlines around the world when tragedy struck at his Astroworld festival on November 5, 2021.

He was playing to a crowd of roughly 50,000 in Houston, with the crowd surging when he took to the stage at around 9pm, leaving many squashed and unable to breathe.

Scott was widely criticized for continuing his set for almost 40 minutes while unconscious bodies were pulled from the crowd – the youngest victim was just nine years old.

While he was asked by many in the audience to stop, he was said to be unaware of what was going on and only found out hours later.

Festivalgoers and their families have taken legal action against the musician, alleging that negligence led to the deaths and injuries sustained at the event.

However, both Scott and Live Nation have denied the allegations.

He later apologized and shared his ‘devastation’ that people were killed and injured, claiming he did not know at the time that people were hurt.

Scott told Charlamagne Tha God in an interview that he ‘1,000 percent’ did what he could to help after realizing there was a problem.

He added: ‘Anytime you can hear something like that, you want to stop the show, you want to make sure fans get the proper attention they need.

‘And anytime I could see anything like that, I did. I stopped it like a couple times to just make sure everybody was okay.’
