Love Island’s Dami Hope and Indiyah Polack have reacted to Paige Thorne and Adam Collard breaking up, saying that ‘it probably needed to happen.’

After meeting on this year’s Love Island, narrowly missing out on a spot in the final, Paige and the personal trainer confirmed they had parted ways in October.

Rumours began to swirl the couple were on the rocks when Paige quietly deleted all trace of Adam from her Instagram after cheating allegations emerged.

Pictures were published of Adam with his arm around another woman inside a McDonald’s after a night out, although his rep strenuously denied he was unfaithful saying the person was a fan who wanted a selfie.

Adam, 26, was then pictured partying in Ibiza looking particularly close to another girl at a pool party.

Speaking to Metro.co.uk, Dami and Indiyah addressed the break-up, with Dami commenting that ‘Paige can do better.’

The senior microbiologist said: ‘It’s not sad though. I feel like Paige deserves better, not gonne lie. It probably needed to happen.’

Indiyah commented: ‘What he did was sad,’ while Dami said he ‘didn’t expect that from him’, claiming that he ‘thought’ the cheating rumours were true.

Paige has also recently spoken out about the break-up for the first time, saying she was having a ‘really s**t time.’

‘I’m single – living my best life. No I’m kidding, it’s been a really s**t time,’ Paige said on the Saving Grace podcast.

She claimed that Adam was ‘not friends’ with the woman he was seen with in Ibiza and even alleged that there are more clips from the party.

‘It’s not just that video,’ she said, adding: ‘There are other videos that people don’t know about of different people, on the same night, in different locations.

‘At first I was like, nah do you know what? It’s just an arm. I get that people get flirty. There’s nothing to it. If I’m in the club and a guy puts his arm around me, is it cheating?

Adam has also addressed splitting up with Paige, hailing the paramedic a ‘great girl.’

‘We’re not together,’ he told The Sun at the National Television Awards. ‘Things happen. But I mean she is a great girl.’

Metro.co.uk has reached out to reps for Adam Collard for comment.
