Just when you thought Married At First Sight UK was all over for another year, it’s been revealed there will be a Christmas special. However, Matt Murray will not be among the contestants returning.
The E4 series concluded earlier this week when it was learned that most of the couples had split following the experiment, with only Zoe Clifton and Jenna Robinson still in a romantic relationship.
The brides and grooms are expected to be back on television screens in December.
A TV source told Metro.co.uk: ‘Filming has just taken place on a MAFS Christmas special that will see faces from the last two series.
‘E4 is expected to announce casting In the coming weeks.’

Matt, who is currently on holiday with former contestant Marilyse Corrigan, will not be present in the episode though, with a rep telling us he has been left ‘traumatised’ after appearing on the series.
‘Matt has gone to recover from the trauma of the show, as you’ll have seen on Tuesday night it’s taken a toll on his emotional wellbeing,’ they told us.
‘Marilyse knows oh too well how the public reaction can impact the mental health of the men on the show as she saw how it impacted Franky, so she’s being nothing more than a supportive friend to him.’
They added: ‘So, she’s being nothing more than a supportive friend to him whilst other friends from the show are filming the Christmas reunion.’
Matt had a turbulent experience on Married At First Sight UK. The barber was originally matched with hairdresser Gemma Rose, however, he soon lost interest and developed feelings for fellow bride Whitney Hughes, who was married to Duka Cav.

Gemma and Duka made the difficult decision to quit the process, with the experts controversially allowing Matt and Gemma to stay on as a dating couple.
However, during the last episode, Whitney revealed they had split soon after the vow renewals. ‘Distance is a big thing,’ she said. ‘He’s three hours away from me.
‘We’re on good terms, yeah.’
Married At First Sight UK is available to stream on All4.
