Mohamed Salah made Champions League history on Wednesday evening by coming off the bench against Rangers to score the fastest ever hat-trick in the competition.
The Egyptian helped Liverpool recover from a goal down to pick up a vital three points in the 7-1 thrashing against the Scottish side.
Incredibly, Salah’s trio of goals was the 100th hat-trick in the history of the Champions League.
But what are the other fastest hat-tricks in the Champions League and who has scored the most in the greatest club competition on Earth?
Here are the all important numbers you need to know.
What are the fastest hat-tricks ever in the Champions League?
Salah needed just six minutes and 12 seconds between his first and third goal to put his name in the Champions League history books.
The Liverpool striker played just 22 minutes in total at Ibrox and only managed 9 touches in that period.

Salah beat the previous record held by Lyon striker Bafetimbi Gomis, who needed eight minutes to score his three goals for the French giants against Dinamo Zagreb in December 2021.
Coincidentally, the former Swansea City striker’s goals also came in a 7-1 victory, meaning that the top two fastest Champions League hat-tricks to date have both come in 7-1 scorelines.
Blackburn striker Mike Newell is third on the list, with his three strikes taking nine minutes in the 4-1 victory over Rosenborg in 1995/96 following their historic title success the previous season.
Newell holds the record for the fastest Champions League hat-trick by an Englishman, although his goals came in vein with the Lancashire side already knocked out of the competition by the time their final group sage match against the Norwegians came around.
Newell’s hat trick was two minutes quicker than Raheem Sterling’s for Manchester City against Atlanta in 2019.

Cristiano Ronaldo, who holds the record for the most goals in Champions League history, scored his fastest trio of goals in an 8-0 drubbing of Malmo in 2015.
Robert Lewandowski has clocked two hat-tricks in the competition at 11 minutes, firstly against Red Star Belgrade and then against Salzburg in March 2022 when he played for Bayern Munich.
