Moscow fresh warning to west – ‘uncontrolled escalation’

Moscow fresh warning to west – ‘uncontrolled escalation’ as air raid sirens heard across Ukraine

All Ukraine regions woke this morning to air alerts as people were preparing to leave home for school and work.

The scene was similar to Monday when Russian missiles struck major Ukrainian cities in the morning rush hour.

This morning Russia issued a fresh warning to the West over its involvement in the Ukraine war.

The latest, from deputy FM Sergei Ryabkov, was reported by Russian state media which quotes him as saying Russia will take adequate countermeasures in response to the West’s “growing involvement” in the war.

The west has provided Ukraine with military support throughout the conflict and have placed harsh sanctions on Russia.

Mr Ryabkov said: “We warn and hope that they realise the danger of uncontrolled escalation in Washington and other Western capitals.”

Yesterday, Putin said a number of missile strikes which hit Ukraine’s cities killing at least 14, were in retaliation for attacks on Russian territory. It’s believed he’s referencing the bridge bombing in Crimea – for which Russia blames Ukraine.
