The Sun on Sunday – United we stand: Wills and Harry joint Queen vigil

This week’s Sunday Papers are heavily dominated by royal news.

The Prince of Wales and Duke of Sussex showed a “united front” during a vigil for the Queen, the Sun on Sunday says on its front page. “United we stand” is the headline.

The paper’s lead story says the brothers “put aside their differences” to lead all eight of the Queen’s grandchildren at the ceremony in Parliament.

Man charged after ‘grabbing flag from Queen’s coffin in front of horrified mourners’ & being tackled to the ground

The Sun says A MAN has been charged after he rushed towards the Queen’s coffin and grabbed the flag in front of shocked mourners.

Muhammad Khan, 28, was tackled to the ground by cops last night after he grabbed the Royal Standard with both hands.

Police in Westminster Hall quickly carried him out of sight as live streams of the coffin cut out for around 15 minutes.

Khan, from Tower Hamlets, London, was today charged with behaviour indenting to cause alarm, harassment or distress under Section 4A of the Public Order Act.

He will appear in custody at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Monday – the same day as the Queen’s funeral.

This Morning insists Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield ‘did not queue jump’ after fan backlash

The Sun say THIS Morning has insisted that Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield “did not jump the queue” to see the Queen’s coffin after facing fan backlash.

The presenting duo have been criticised for jumping the line to see Her Majesty lying-in-state at Westminster Hall on Friday.

More than one million people – including David Beckham and Susanna Reid – have waited hours to pay their respects to the late monarch, with a 16-hour queue predicted today.

But Holly and Phil were able to avoid the queue because they were let in to film a segment for their ITV show.

This went down badly with some viewers, who accused the hosts of being ‘disrespectful’.

Mini budget 2022: Brits in certain areas of UK to have taxes SLASHED under proposals considered by Liz Truss

The Sun says LIZ Truss has drawn up plans to slash taxes for Brits who work in deprived parts of Britain where she is creating new ‘investment zones’.

The Sun on Sunday can reveal the radical proposal is being discussed at the top of government as they finalise their ‘mini Budget’ – announced this Friday.

Ms Truss wants to turbocharge the economy by slashing taxes – including scrapping the NICs and corporation tax hikes.

She will also announce new ‘investment zones’ –  ultra low tax and low regulation areas of the country.

Businesses that move to and invest in these areas will have their levies slashed and be freed from red tape – like overzealous eco rules that can block new development.

Chelsea boss Graham Potter plays old club Brighton in behind-closed-doors friendly as Chukwuemeka scores both in 2-1 win

The Sun says CHELSEA boss Graham Potter faced his old club Brighton in a behind-closed-doors friendly on Saturday.

The Blues were due to take on Liverpool at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.

But the match was postponed due to a lack of police resources following the death of The Queen.

Brighton’s clash with Crystal Palace was also called off.

And the two Premier League sides were keen to head into the international break with some form of action.

The Sun says A HORROR crash has left 19 schoolkids dead after a lorry smashed into a minibus on a South African highway.

The tragedy happened in the Pongola area – around 300 kilometres north of Durban – on Friday afternoon.

Horrifying dashcam footage showed the moment the lorry overtook another truck on the two-lane highway before ploughing into the minibus full of schoolkids.

According to local media reports, the minibus tried to swerve out of the way of the oncoming lorry before it was crushed by the vehicle.

Authorities said 19 children – aged between five and 12 – died in the crash, along with three adults.
