The i says a military rehearsal took place overnight for the Queen’s coffin procession, hours before Charles makes his first visit to Northern Ireland as King.
Hundreds of the Queen’s Guards, dressed in their iconic red military attire with tall, black bearskin hats, rehearsed the procession which will carry the late monarch’s coffin from Buckingham Palace to the Palace of Westminster tomorrow.
The carriage of the King’s Troop Royal Horse Artillery was led along the route by seven black horses, with a black coffin placed on the gun carriage. At around 4am, the procession marched, travelling past the Queen’s Gardens, The Mall, Whitehall, Parliament Street, Parliament Square and New Palace Yard.
